The Tsum valley is a sacred Himalayan pilgrimage valley called the “hidden valley” situated in northern Gorkha, Nepal. ‘Tsum’ comes from the Tibetan word called ‘Tsombo’, meaning as vivid. Traditionally, Tsum valley was a currently distinct geographical area called ‘Tsum Tso Chucksums’, which means thirteen provinces ruled as a single territory. The Tsum Valley is rich in art and the culture. The altitude of Tsum Valley trek varies from 1905m (Lhokpa) to over 5093m (Ngula Dhojhyang pass) on the Tibatan border.
The hidden valley is surrounded by the Boudha Himal and Himal chuli to the west, Ganesh Himal to the south & Sringi Himal to North. The local people are mostly of Tibetan origin & speak their own dialect. They celebrate unique festival like Lhosar,Dhacyhang,Saka Dawa,Faning & others. The trail is mostly surrounded by Chortens, mani walls, Monestary and the ancient traditional gates. One can notice a great Tibetan influenced decoration and design set up in the dining room at the lodges on the trail.

|When the clients arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, we, the representative from Pema treks & expedition will welcome you displaying the name of the clients on a board. We then help you with your baggage and car (private). You will be transfer to hotel.|

|Having breakfast at the hotel we leave Kathmandu to Arughat via Dadingbesi. From Arughat its about 2 hours offroad drive to Sotikhola.|
|4||Sotikhola – Machha khola ( 700m – 869m)||6-7 hours||700||Easy|
|After breakfast our trail continue throught the bank of Budi Gandaki River crossing Armala, Liding then to Labubesi. Labubesi, a Gurung village is good place to stop for the lunch. We contiue throught some rocky trail to Macchakhola leaving Khanikhola behind. Machha khola may be a good place to shop since there are some retail shop either after crossing the river or just before crossing the river.|

|Today our trail is bit longer than usual. After 1 hour of walk we will be in a small town, Khorla besi where we can still buy some goods at retail shops. Next copule of hours walk takes us to Tatopani(hot spring). From Tatopani we will be at Dovan (lunch spot) after 2 hours of walking crossing and re-crossing of the Budhi Gandaki. Its next 2-3 hours walk to Jagat.|
|6||Jagat – Lokpa ( 1340m – 2240m)||6-7 hours||2240||Easy|
|Jagat is the entry check point either for Manasalu circiut trek or Tsum Valley trek. After doing the checking of our permit and the necessary documents, we head towards Salleri, a small Gurung village. We can have clear summit view of Mt. Sringi from Salleri and thereafter till we get to Sirdibas. Walking for ½ hours comes a suspension bridge to Philim. Philim is a beautiful village with some wi-fi available hotel and cottage. We need to do the checking of our permit again a police office at Philim. Its around 45 mins walk to Chisapani (Ekla batti) a good spot for lunch. After lunch we continue our trail to Lokpa. On the way up we can see a good waterfall veiw and some watermill. When we get close to the bridge we can see a sign bord indicating the way to Manasalu and to Tsum valley. We walk all the way up to Lokpa. Main Lokpa is up just around 15 mins walk from the main trail. We can see a smaller Lokpa with 2 lodges on the main trail.|
|7||Lokpa – Chumling (2240m – 2384m)||4-5 hours||2384||Easy|
|The trail today is like up and down. We make gradual descend till we get to a bridge and after few minutes comes a trail close to the river. Then we keep climbing till we get to a ridge where we can have view of Sringi himal and the Chumling village. Now we descend down to the river and cross the river. There are two small tea shops before crossing the river where we can have a cup of tea/coffee and admire the cool breezes. We keep climbing till we get to Chumling. From Chumling we can have the view of Ripchet valley and the Ganesh Himal Range.|
|8||Chumling – Chekam paro ( 2386m – 3031m)||4 – 5 hours||3031||Easy|
|The trail continue with crossing a suspension bridge and keep walking till we get to Domje. At Dumje there is another suspension bridge from where the trail climbs up towards Gho. From Dumje after crossing the bridge there is a side trail to Gomba Lungdang, Ripchet and Ganesh himal trip. From Gho we make all the way up to Chekam paro with rocky trail. We can have probability to see Himalayan sheep before we reach Chekampar village. There is again the check post for the permits. We can do the checking on the same day or the next day.|
|9||Chekam Paro - Nile ( 3031m – 3361m)||: 4 – 5 hours||3361||Easy|
|Chekam paro is a beautiful monestry with some Monestry and fine lodges. The view of Ganesh himal range is eye catching. The trail today surrounded by mountain and hills on all side may be the most wonderful trail on the Tsum Valley trek. Walking for a couple of hours take us to Lamagaun, a wide valley with the view of Rachen Gumba and some monestry. From Lamagaun its about 45 mins walk to a smalll village opposite to Rachen Gumba where we can get the ticket for the visit to Milerapa cave. Its good idea to pay a side trip to Milerapa cave where we can see the foot print and many more about a holy saint called Milerapa. After the visit we descend back to the village and continue our trail to Pungdun crossing Phurbe. From Pungdun over a small ridge we can have the view of wide Chule and Nile valley with Mu Gumba at far background. The valley looks so wonderful. On the way up to Nile there is a nice two waterfall above Chule village. After Chule we need to cross a suspension bridge before we climb up for Nile.|
|10||Nile – Mu Gumba - Nile ( 3361m – 3700m)||2 - 3 hours||3700||Easy|
|We make a day hike to Mu Gumba since the lodging and fooding is fairly developed in Mu Gumba. If some one wish to spend a night at Mu Gumba then he/she must do the lodging and fooding at Monestry unlike lodges. On the way up to Mu Gumba we can feel like we are surrounded by mountains and hill side and the trail with Mani walls makes our trail interesting. Looking back from Mu Gumba gives fantastic view of Nile valley with Ganesh himal range at the background. Having some tea or lunch and have looked around we then descend back to Nile.
One can pay side trip to a nunnery monestry called Dephu Doma. Its about 1 hour walks from Mu Gumba.
From Mu Gumba one can go up to Tibet border too..
|11||Nile – Chekam paro ( 3361m – 3031m)||4-5 hours||3031||Easy|
|Since it is going back trail, we have easy day today. We will go to Chekam paro via the route of Rachen Gumba and will have sightseeing at Rachen Gumba area. Then we cross a suspension bridge taking us to Lamagaun and sescend contiuely to Chekam Par admiring the Ganesh himal range and the valley.|
|12||Chekam Paro – Lokpa ( 3031m – 2240m)||7-8 hours||2240||Easy|
|Today we go back to Lokpa via the route of Ripchet instead of Chumling. From Chekam Paro, we descend down till we get to Gho village where we can see a sign board indicating the trail to Gomba Lundang and Chekam paro. Optional trail: We can descend down to suspension bridge at Domje and take the left trail before crossing the river. We make our trail toward Gumba lundang where we descend down till we get to a small wooden bridge. From the brigde, we keep walking till we get a junction where the trail are up and down one. The up trail is the way to Gomba Lundang and the Ganesh himal trek. People walk to Gomba Lundang as side trip. We walk down trail and cross several suspension bridge till we get to Ripchet. There is good veiw of Sringi himal and the Chumling valley on clear day. From Ripchet its gradual cum slight steep descend to a tea house close to a bridge and make our way continue to Lokpa.|
